Welcome to Aetha Dan

Dan is a product designer from Nottingham, who studied at Loughborough University.  He loves to travel and has worked previously in Malaysia & The Netherlands. We warmed to Dan from the moment we met him in his initial meet here in our studio in Poole and he started with Aetha Design at the beginning of June 2019. With a keen interest for design and sport, we are sure he will fit in with the team...especially on the future annual winter ski trip!We asked him a few questions to understand what he is all about…

What attracted you to working with the Aetha team?

“I was attracted firstly by the work that Aetha Design had produced. The website was very clean and the range of products really excited me. This initially drew me in, but as I got to meet the team at Aetha, that just set in stone my desire to work for them. I also loved the fact that Aetha had worked with products on Boats & Yachts alike. Of course, being by the sea was the cherry on top.”

What will you be bringing to the Aetha team?

“I thought I may be bringing the sunshine but it has rained since I got here! I can make up for it though by bringing energy and a smile and most importantly some good designs....hopefully.”

Have you got a favourite design icon?

“Oki Sato. I love his clean lines and Minimalistic style. He is the Director and Founder of a Design house called Nendo” They have some really great stuff. I particularly like their coffee table and cutlery designs. Really worth checking out." *Image: Tangle Table for Cappellini designed by Oki Sato for Nendo

What do you get up to outside of the studio?

“I love to travel. I am either beside a beach or up a mountain skiing. If you can't find me in the studio, or at home designing, don't call me, I'm busy and I probably don't have reception"

Lastly, do you have a quote or mantra to live by?

“My bumper sticker quote: Live a lot, trust a few, but always paddle with your own canoe."We are always interested to hear from new design talent so if you are interested in joining our team then please do send us your portfolio & CV to hello@aethadesign.com
