Nike pushes forward with AI by acquiring a second tech company in a month to make a clear statement regarding investment in innovation

Nike is clearly making a big push in its technical capabilities by acquiring a second tech-focussed company within just a month. Nike has acquired the Israeli firm Invertex, a digital software company known for its' body scanning software. Invertex previously developed the FeetID platform that can scan and size shoppers feet before sending the data to their mobile phone. "The acquisition of Invertex will deepen our bench of digital talent and further our capabilities in computer vision and artificial intelligence as we create the most compelling Nike consumer experience at every touch point," Nike Chief Digital Officer Adam Sussman said in a press release.Invertex has created 3D body scanning technology to pioneer online fitting and mass customisation. Could Nike be looking at 3D printing custom trainers?
