Welcome to news from the Aetha and welcome to the future! We’re fresh back from CES to share with you the latest and greatest from the biggest tech show on the planet. Companies go to CES to show off what they have in the pipeline. This year AI stole the show undoubtably as you’d expect but there were also some big launches and surprises along the way.
LG had one of the most impressive stands taking over a large portion of one of the entrance halls. Their flagship product this year is a transparent display that they were showcasing as everything from a household TV to many commercial applications from adaptive shopfronts to this hotel concierge.
Zoom is great but it’s even better to meet some of our clients from across the pond in real life! Here I am with Kevin from Glüxkind, we’ve been working with Kevin and his team for almost 2 years but never met in person. The product is a (double!) CES award winning AI motorised stroller.
Environmentally conscious products were not as prominent as you may expect this year but this toothbrush/ beard trimmer combo from Panasonic caught my eye.
As a judge this year it was an honour to see the products that I had judged for this year’s innovation awards. My category was ‘home appliances’ which spread from vacuum cleaners to coffee machines.
Age & disability tech was represented on a huge scale this year and one of my favourite projects in my judging category was this range from LG showcasing novel ways to make home appliances easier to use from hanging shirts to reaching at the back of cupboards.
AI interactions were one of the highlight experiences from the show, this one was Lennie, brought to you by Panasonic. Guests could ask Lennie anything and the blob gave quick, witty, ‘human-like’ (worryingly!) responses to any question.
And finally… it wouldn’t be a trip to the future without at least one flying car!
